Shandruk: “We Lacked Composure in Front of Goal” After Veres Win Over Rukh
Veres Rivne head coach Oleh Shandruk reflected on his team’s hard-fought victory over Rukh Lviv in Round 12 of the Ukrainian Premier League, noting that his players could have avoided a tense finish had they been more clinical in attack.
His comments were published by the club’s press service.
“We lacked composure in the final stage of our attacks, which led to a nervous ending,” Shandruk admitted. “In training, when we practice situations with a numerical advantage, the players finish calmly and confidently. Today, we just didn’t have enough patience. We could’ve scored another goal and avoided such a tense finale. It would have been very disappointing to drop points at home again.”
“We actually played quite well in Ternopil against Epicentr, and based on what we saw in training, there was no reason to change the starting lineup. That said, I’m not against rotation — competition within the team is always a good thing.”
Earlier, Rukh head coach Ivan Fedyk also shared his reaction to the result. The Lviv club have now suffered three consecutive defeats, leaving them second from bottom in the league table, while Veres climb to ninth place with the win.
